Platform in Action
At the September 2025 Convention, delegates rose to defeat the draft Party Platform presented by the Party leadership and enthusiastically endorsed the 2021 Platform that promised to fight for the needs of the 99%, including single payer, the right to form unions, housing and rent control, the rights of women and LGBTQ+ people, and lots more.
Many of the people who organized that successful fight for the 2021 Platform have joined together to continue that struggle within the Party. We call ourselves the Platform in Action Group.
Get Dark Money out of Democratic Primaries
Get Dark Money Out of Democratic Primaries is a project of Platform in Action dedicated to empowering grassroots activists and informing the public about the dangers of untraceable campaign contributions in our electoral system.
Our mission is to raise awareness about the influence of dark money in politics, especially during democratic primaries. Through our platform, we aim to mobilize volunteers and delegates, provide resources regarding Massachusetts' 40 senate districts, and spotlight the assigned Whips for each district. Join us in our fight for transparency in political funding and help us ensure that every vote counts, free from the shadows of undisclosed financial influence.
Mission Statement
We, members of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, support the right of every resident to housing, medical care, education, food, and a livable climate. We advocate for this within the Party and work to elect Democrats who are committed to this agenda.
We will develop a network of collaborating organizations, including Democratic Town and Ward Committees, that support the struggles for economic security for all and the democratic and civil rights of those targeted by bigotry (including immigrants, women, Black, Indigenous, Latino/a/x, disabled, LGBTQIA+) who are persistently and systemically marginalized.
We will hold elected Democrats accountable and refuse to support the reelection of legislators who fail to vote in favor of a minimum of 75% of the bills supported by our platform.
We will create an activist Party that organizes in our communities for our Party’s principles and holds our elected officials accountable.
Rank and file Democrats are deeply concerned about the damaging influence that outside spending by SuperPACs and billionaires is having on our local, state, and federal elections. Massachusetts Democrats want assurances that our elected leaders represent our interests, rather than big outside corporate interests.
